Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled Agricultural Equipment Maintenance Engineer to join our technical team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing mechanical systems critical to farm operations, including poultry production equipment.
- This role requires expertise in industrial maintenance, a solid grasp of mechanical engineering principles, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in agricultural settings.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Optimization:
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on farm machinery such as feeders, water systems, HVAC units, and generators.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment failure and downtime.
- Optimize mechanical systems to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly, ensuring uninterrupted farm operations.
- Provide technical assistance to production teams to address mechanical breakdowns.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to improve equipment performance.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with industry safety regulations and farm operational standards.
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing preventative safety measures and conducting risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory for regulatory compliance.
Team Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with engineers, production managers, and maintenance staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Train farm personnel on the proper handling, usage, and minor troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Recommend and implement engineering solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices for agricultural equipment maintenance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the agricultural or food production sector.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of agricultural equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in industrial and farm settings.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Prior experience in poultry or livestock farm operations is an added advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
