About the Role

  • We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable Oil & Gas company seeking a competent and detail-oriented Corrosion Control Engineer to join its operations team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for preventing and managing corrosion in infrastructure, equipment, and systems. This role involves designing corrosion protection strategies, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards to extend asset life and maintain safety.
  • This role is suited for professionals with fabrication experience within the oil and gas servicing sector who can effectively conduct inspections and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct corrosion inspections, monitoring, and failure analysis to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Supervise surface preparation activities, including sandblasting, to ensure compliance with standards and coating specifications
  • Oversee the application of protective coatings, industrial paints, and linings to ensure quality and durability
  • Monitor fabrication works such as welding, cutting, fitting, and assembly to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Inspect and maintain cathodic protection systems for pipelines, tanks, and related facilities where applicable
  • Prepare technical reports, inspection records, maintenance documentation, and project progress updates
  • Analyze and ensure all operations comply with HSE policies, industry regulations, and environmental safety standards
  • Provide technical supervision and guidance to technicians, sandblasters, painters, and fabrication personnel to maintain quality workmanship
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and field teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution
  • Develop and implement corrosion prevention and control programs for pipelines, tanks, steel structures, and industrial equipment

Requirements

  • B.Sc./MSc in Corrosion Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the engineering field within an Oil & Gas Servicing Company
  • Knowledge of oilfield equipment, materials, and oil servicing processes
  • Must be an engineer who specializes in corrosion control with relevant certifications
  • Knowledge of sandblasting is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in inspection tools and corrosion monitoring techniques
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., NACE, ISO, ASTM)
  • Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, materials science, and protective technologies

Experience:

  • Oil and gas: 5 years (Required)
